World in Motion Family Kickoff Event

«Previous Next»

“A World in Motion” Science and Engineering Pilot program for selected 5th grade students will take place during the school day for eight weeks starting the end of March and will be taught by two highly qualified science educators hired specifically for this project. The primary goal for this project is to provide challenging and engaging learning experiences in science, math and technology through hands-on activities around scientific principles such as gravity, acceleration, inertia and resistance. Students are presented with a design problem for building a vehicle. In cooperative teams, students gather and synthesize information; design and test a prototype design; and prepare a presentation of their design ideas.
