Massachusetts Cultural Council Creative Schools Puppetry Residency Program is wrapping up at South Street and McKay Campus Elementary Schools. Children and grades 3 and 4 created their own puppets based on a character in a story. Each class focused on a different type of puppet. Some built marionettes, rod puppets, shadow puppets for Toy Theater and hand puppets. They also designed and painted the Puppet Theater and sets. Children wrote their own scripts, learned how to manipulate the puppet and bring it to life with dramatic vocal expression. |
