High-quality work brings one more success at the fifth annual exhibition of student artwork, considering the theme "Preserving a Sense Place". In attendance were approximately 160 people, consisting of artists, families and friends combined with new visitors to the area observing the third Mayor's First Thursday on Fitchburg's Main Street.
Families and children alike were delighted with the presentation of their work, the gallery's beautiful space and the delectable buffet provided by Clark Straight of C &V Management, Co, and a yearly sponsor of the event.
The theme of the show was "Preserving a Sense of Place" through the eyes of a child. The exhibit featured more than 43 selected works by Fitchburg Public School children ranging in grades 1 through 8. Highlights of the exhibition were visual images of the Fitchburg Art Museum, Stratton Playhouse, Monument Park, imaginary places, whimsical places and places of interest. Note cards of each student artwork are available for sale. Order forms will be available at www.fitchburgarts.org. All proceeds benefit the arts in the schools.
