Fitchburg Autumn Festival & Forge-In Blacksmith Competition

Fitchburg Parks and Recreation hosts the community of Fitchburg in many ways. 21st Century After School Program benefits from their support at the Kidz Partypalooza. They are a major partner to this event, and generoulys supplies arts and crafts, games and assorted activities, and personnel to heightened the success and excitement of the event.
The Fitchburg Cultural Alliance
The Fitchburg Cultural Alliance has served the youth of Fitchburg by honoring students who have shown excellence in the arts. For the past five years the Alliance has given scholarships to selected 6th grade students at Memorial to attend a summer camp program at Tanglewood called "Days in the Arts" sponsored by the Boston Symphony Orchestra. In addition, the Fitchburg Cultural Alliance produces a semi-annual city-wide Arts and Cultural calendar highlighting the arts events in the area and sponsors events at Riverfront Park and Main Street to showcase local artists, students and cultural groups.
The Fitchburg Cultural Council
The Fitchburg Cultural Council supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council has awarded thousands of dollars to our schools for mini-grants in the arts, sciences and humanities. They are committed to serving the children and youth through enrichment opportunities such as cultural field trips, in-school performances and mini-residency programs.
Fitchburg State College Cultural Affairs Office & Center Stage
The Fitchburg Arts Department and the FSC Cultural Affairs office have collaborated together to give students an opportunity to attend matinee performances by nationally known artists. Throughout this past year middle school children have participated in a mini-residency program with the nationally acclaimed Contrasts Quartet, attended Battleworks dance performance and Erin Orr Puppetry Workshop.
The Fitchburg Art Museum
The Fitchburg Art Museum continues to work in close cooperation with the Fitchburg Public Schools with the establishment of a school within a school called the Museum Partnership School. This unique program offers a collection-based curriculum using a project-based and interdisciplinary approach to learning. Since September 2001, The Museum has sponsored artist-in-residency programs, community performances and teacher training through The Lincoln Center Institute of New York City.
Fitchburg High School Band Parents Association
For more than 35 years the FHS Band Parents have devoted their time and energy to support the music program with scholarships, equipment, field trips, and student music festivals. More importantly, the Band Parents are strong advocates for music education in our schools and community.
The Johnsonia Gallery at 532 Main Street
Clark Straight, owner of C & V Property Management and the Johnsonia Gallery has sponsored the "Perserving a Sense of Place" student artwork exhibit for students in grades 1 through 8. The event brings out more than 100 families to view the amazing talent of our children..
The Rotary Clubs of Fitchburg and Leominster
Each year the Rotary Clubs of Fitchburg and Leominster sponsor a Breakfast .for the Bands the Sunday before the big Thanksgiving football game. The proceeds from this event support the instrumental programs at Leominster and Fitchburg High Schools. Over the years thousands of dollars have been donated to the bands due to the efforts of the Rotary.
Twin Cities Community Development Corporation. Through their community schools programs, the CDC has adopted our 21st Century After School Learning Center at Memorial Intermediate School. Their generous support has help to expand the services offered at Memorial through staffing, programs and materials. In collaboration with the Fitchburg Municipal Credit Union, a bank is now operating at Memorial offering a school banking program for students and their families.
